The Elizabeth House Hotel
Originally two Victorian Houses The Elizabeth House Hotel was opened some 60 years ago by an ex cruise liner steward. Photos and pictures in the Reception Lounge area remind visitors of this connection with the sea.
As part of a sustained programme of improvement, the present owners added No. 42 The Avenue (next door) in 2001, which was, for many years, the Rectory for St. Barnabas Church and latterly the constituency office of the late Sir James Hill, one of Southampton's M.P's.
There are now 27 ensuite bedrooms. High ceilings, original plaster covings, stained glass and banisters etc. have been retained giving the hotel a spacious airy ambience.
The Hotel is owned and managed by Brett and Karen Hockin both of whom learned their trade working in a national chain of luxury hotels. They live on site with their young family.
A first class Full English Breakfast is served in our restaurant on the ground floor including Fruit Juices, Cereals, Yoghurts, fresh Grapefruit and hot Toast. Also a choice of hot breakfast whether it be a 'Full English' or Haddock with poached egg, or scrambled eggs on toast with bacon or Kippers...

In the evenings we offer a full a la carte and snack menu served 'Bistro' style. We also offer a simple wine list or a drink from our fully licensed bar.

The Elizabeth House also has a versatile Function Room Private Lunches, Teas and Dinners.

Guests wishing to leave their cars at The Hotel whilst on cruises may do so at their own risk for a nominal charge of £4.00 per day.

All of our individually designed bedrooms have full ensuite facilities. They are well equipped with 26" Flat Screen T.V's with Freeview channels, tea and coffee making facilities, and telephones.

We have full access bedrooms designed with the help of the local 'Action for Access' group which meet all of the current DDA requirements.

The function room has two large bay windows with good natural light and is ideal for training courses, seminars, private lunches and dinners, christenings, or other social occasions. We offer extremely competitive rates.
